Left: charcoal on flecked clay / Right: charcoal on pale clay
Charcoal
Black but only at first glance. ‘Charcoal’ is a complex and varied glaze of black, green, grey tones that give it a character and handmade warmth.
On Flecked Stoneware. Semi-matte black with sublte variations of grey, green and brown in places.
On Pale Stoneware. A slightly cleaner and less varied version than on the flecked clay, though otherwise extremely similar (it’s hard to tell the difference!)
