OCHRE
This glaze is named after one if its ingredients - iron ochre. Depending on the clay body used, it is a complex, full glaze, with intricate crystal formations. Colours can vary from a warm caramel brown, orange, even a little purple too when applied thickly.
On Flecked Stoneware. Brown where applied thinly, more caramel in colour where thick. This is a glossy glaze but the rutile within creates a more semi-matte appearance in certain lights.
On Pale Stoneware. A rich, crystalline, vivid glaze with some an occasional and surprising purple hue. More glossy than on the flecked clay.
