FAQs

How long will my order take from the moment I pay until it arrives at my door?
For our pre-order tableware the lead time is 8-12 weeks.

Why does it take so long?
Wheel-thrown ceramics is a slow process. Not only do pieces take time to make, they need time to dry slowly. Instead of it being a long drawn out wait, we’re trying to celebrate our slow-ness, sending you making updates along the way, so when your piece finally arrives, it feels like Christmas.

I don’t see my country in the shipping option, what can I do?
Sorry about that! We absolutely can ship to your country but we don’t have it as an automated option because we’re struggling with cost accuracy this way. Please email us with the product(s) you’d like, your address and contact number and we’ll provide you with a quotation.

I’d like to purchase this as a gift. Is there an option for the recipient to receive something up front and to acknowledge the gift, and for them to choose the glaze colours?
Absolutely. At the checkout, let us know if this purchase is for a gift and if you’d like us to post a welcome card right away, including any special message.

Can I get physical samples of the glaze before I choose?
Yes - glaze swatch tiles are complimentary on all UK orders, we’ll post the pack to you once you check out.

What if I change my mind?
There is a grace period of 5 days from date of order in which you can change your mind and apply for a full refund. Just get in touch via email to info@potterywest.co.uk. After this point all pre-orders are non refundable and considered final sale.

I’m a bit lost in choice with the glaze colours, can I speak to someone?
Yes - send us an email and we can talk, or speak over the phone / video call if that is best.

Can I mix and match my pre-order with ready-to-ship items?
Absolutely. Please let us know at the checkout, in the notes section, if you’d like it all sending later on when the pre-order is ready, or if you’d like to receive your ready-to-ship items right away.

Are the pieces dishwasher and microwave safe?
The short answer is yes - they are safe. However, handmade ceramics differ from some mass-produced ceramics in their composition. They are made carefully by hand and we recommend washing them by hand too. Regular dishwasher use may shorten their lifespan with chips and cracks being more likely.
