Private Group Wheel Throwing Session (3 hours) - Flexible Dates
A private throwing class for groups (maximum 4 people). We’re excited to welcome you into our city centre studio for a 3-hour wheel throwing session taught by either Matt or Luna.
Once the booking is made we can work together to choose a time and date that is suitable. This is a great way to dive into all things clay and throwing at the wheel.
1x 3 hour session for 1, 2, 3 or 4 people.
Sheffield City Centre - a 5 minute walk from the train station and lots of wonderful cafes
£120 for one person, plus £60 for each additional member.
The Workshop:
This workshop can be tailor made around your ability and interests. All the fundamentals of throwing pots on the wheel will be covered; how to centre clay and create vessels on the wheel. If desired, other aspects of making, such as handle making can be covered. A week or so before the session we’ll be in touch with you to find out what kind of skills you’re looking to learn and develop.
You’ll each have your own wheel and plenty of assistance from your instructor.
You don’t need to have any pottery experience to attend this course, although it might be useful as a refresher course for those who have dabbled at the wheel in the past.
All equipment and materials will be provided.
Aprons will be provided but please wear suitable clothing that you don’t mind getting covered in clay. Please wear suitable footwear.

About Matt:
Matt co-founded Pottery West in 2015 and has been working with clay since 2013. Specialising in thrown functional ware, you’ll often find Matt at the wheel either leading on our production pieces or else working on new designs. Matt originally trained as a designer, graduating from Goldsmiths in 2011 and also worked as a baker before re-training as a potter.
