Ceramic jar wheel-thrown in a pale stoneware and glazed in our speckled white glaze, reduction fired, with calcined waste glaze mixed in - this is what creates the speckles.

Part of an edition of eleven jars, a collaboration between Pottery West and Neil Whitelaw. He says about the choice of wood for this lid:
I was really keen to use this piece of maple that I had been given. The dark stripes against the strong dots in the glaze worked really well I thought. I was restricted to the height I could go to and I am pleased I was.
Each jar in the collection is completely unique with its corresponding lid turned at the lathe in Neil’s Sheffield workshop.
